Hand Stamping and Precision Stamping
Hand stamping is done one letter at a time, making each piece totally individual. It creates impressions in the metal and gives a hand made, rustic look, not always perfectly aligned. Precision stamping uses technology which also results in a groove/impression in the metal. With the use of technology however, it results in a slightly more symmetrical/aligned finish. It also enables us to fit a few more characters on each piece if required, and to offer various fonts and graphics. Please note that not all the letters, spaces or numbers will be totally straight. This is part of the charm of our jewellery and the hand crafted nature of your purchase.
Not all, but many of our eternity circles can be stamped on the reverse side because we use quite think silver to ensure that no indentation appears on the opposing side. There is an additional $19 charge for stamping on 2 sides. Stamping on one side is included in the price. When you select the product it will provide you with the option if it is available for the particular product. Hand stamping generally isn’t however done on both sides. If you choose hand stamping, and want stamping on both sides, the front will be hand stamped, and the back will be precision stamped to ensure the integrity of the silver or gold isn’t compromised. Sometimes hitting a piece with the hammer on the front and back can compromise the shape a little so we prefer to avoid this.
Refunds and Exchanges
We endeavour to maintain the highest quality standards. Due however to the personalised nature of your purchase, we are unable to exchange or refund and personalised pieces. Mistakes do sometimes happen of course, so if we have made a spelling mistake or some other error, we will rectify that asap. Please take the time to ensure you capture your stamping requirements accurately when placing your order.
We endeavour to complete all orders within 7 business days upon receipt of full payment. Unfortunately work can not commence unless payment has been made. We prefer to send our jewellery via registered post which enables tracking and is secure. If you require your piece urgently, we can send it via express post if requested.
Sterling Silver and Tarnish
Over time it is inevitable that sterling silver jewellery will tarnish. It is not a quality or manufacturing issue, it occurs due to a chemical reaction (oxidisation) that occurs when the silver reacts to sulphur in the air. Other chemicals such as chlorine, some perfumes, some soaps, hairspray, deodorant, bleach and even some peoples’ skin type can speed up the tarnishing process.
Of course you can add pendants to your existing piece in the future. Just contact us for a price for adding a pendant. Of course we can not guarantee that the styles and designs will remain exactly the same over time.
We can add stamping to your pendant in the future for all hand stamped pendants. For the precision stamped pendants, we can also add future stamping however, we can not guarantee that the stamping will be the same. The technology used to do the precision stamping changes over time and can result in variations in the depth and look of the stamping. It may not be the case, but we like to flag it just in case. If you think you may want to add stamping in the future, you may be better off choosing the hand stamping option.
